Therapy for an Overwhelming World
There are many reasons and ways that the world can feel like it is pressing in. Often it’s the circumstances you find yourself in. Your body chemistry can sometimes play a part. The environment you live in has a role, too. Therapy is an effective treatment for depression and low mood.
Do any of these things sound familiar to you?
Life has been feeling out-of-focus and I’m looking for clarity.
A bad mood has been following me around like a dark gloomy cloud. I can’t seem to shake it for long, if at all. I’m ready to find a patch of sun on life’s lawn and enjoy myself again.
I’ve been taking too many risks lately. I want to get my feet back under me.
I realize—or got a nudge from someone, that I’ve been too stressed, sad, or irritable about work or school, important people in my life, or the world in general. Now that I think about it, feeling calmer and even happier with others and myself seems like it would be a good place to be.
I’ve been out-of-sorts and unmotivated. I want to get back on track and feel like myself again.
Taking care of myself and having energy are things of the past. I have some aches and pains that don’t seem to have a medical explanation. I want to feel well and stronger.
I want to feel better about myself.
I’d like to feel less alone in the world. I’m looking for ways to reconnect to others, to myself, and to LIFE.
Years of research have shown that therapy is an effective tool for dealing with the challenges of an overwhelming world, including helping to lift low mood and depression.
